![]() Mark Inman of Greensboro, N.C., caught 10-bass weighing 24 pounds, 7 ounces Aug. 28-29, 2010 to win $6,604 in the BFL Piedmont Division tournament on Kerr Lake. Inman was using spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and spoons to catch his limit. He was fishing mid lake and said that the topwater bite was good early and then he switched to spoons to get the afternoon bite. The remaining top 10 anglers: 2nd: Derik Hudson, Hurt, Va., 10 bass, 23-7, $2,302 3rd: Wes Dacey, Colonial Heights, Va., 10 bass, 22-14, $1,536 4th: Sammy Creech, Kenly, N.C., 10 bass, 22-13, $1,074 5th: Danny Haire, Yadkinville, N.C., 10 bass, 22-5, $921 6th: Chris Baldwin, Lexington, N.C., 10 bass, 21, $844 7th: Jeff Coble, Manson, N.C., eight bass, 18-9, $767 8th: Richard Greene, Laurinburg, N.C., seven bass, 17-15, $691 9th: Shane Burns, Durham, N.C., eight bass, 17-14, $614 10th: Eddie Daniels, Garner, N.C., six bass, 15-6, $537 Brent Boney of Emporia, Va., caught 10-bass weighing 21 pounds, 1 ounce Aug. 28-29 to win $2,302 in the Co-angler Division. Boney was using topwater walking baits around bushes to catch his limit. The remaining top 10 co-anglers: 2nd: Randy Ruffin, Virginia Beach, Va., seven bass, 17-9, $1,151 3rd: Michael Nelms, Hartwood, Va., seven bass, 17-5, $767 4th: Jeremy Ives, Burgaw, N.C., seven bass, 14-10, $537 5th: Pat Kendrick, Columbia, Va., eight bass, 13-11, $460 6th: William Vierra, Durham, N.C., five bass, 11-2, $422 7th: Tyler Purcell, Chapel Hill, N.C., four bass, 11, $384 8th: Orlando Giles, Lexington, N.C., six bass, 10-6, $345 9th: Dan Treadaway, Rocky Mount, N.C., five bass, 9-11, $307 10th: Jim Nichols, Chapel Hill, N.C., three bass, 6-15, $269 The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings have now qualified for the Oct. 7-9 Regional Championship on the Potomac River in Marbury, Md. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
